SMAC - Scientific Meetings After Croissant

The Scientific Meetings After Croissant are regularly scheduled informal meetings among all researchers and techniciens of the 3SR lab. They aim at creating links and synergy by sharing knowledge and experience between projects and generations.
We like to see these meetings as the sweet spot between the seminar talks, where ideas are well structured and nicely illustrated and the coffee talks, where discussions are more natural and free to go in unexpected directions.
As informal meetings, we aim for topics on on-going researches rather than established results. You could come to show a result you just had or to seek help on a specific issue you're facing.
The format of these meetings are rather free and should encourage interactions. Therefore we think it is important to avoid slide based linear presentations. The support of the discussion could simply be a set of images opened in FIJI, experimental data in a notebook, simulation opened in paraview, the designs of a new apparatus, an interesting paper you just read... Feel free to come up with your own way of conveying your ideas.
The success of these meetings depends on the people who attend to it. The greater the variety of researchers the richer the discussions. Our hopes are that, by attending these meetings, students will get their heads out of their PhD to discover other topics, other persons and other methods and, along the way, maybe find solutions to their own problems. Our hopes are also that, by attending these meetings, permanents will get a better overview of the different projects within the lab and get the opportunity to share their knowledge with other groups.

We will schedule these meetings on Fridays after the croissant break at 10h30. The duration could range from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.
